Our Mission

“Don’t ask what the world needs.

Ask what makes you come alive, and go do that.”

Howard Thurman

We’re building a hopeful alternative for the ‘fight against’ fires, floods, droughts, and climate change

We’re turning a degraded piece of land in Central Portugal into a demonstration site and learning centre for the healing of water cycles, landscapes, and communities.

We offer inspiration and know-how for true resilience and prosperity

We prototype new ways of living and working, build blueprints for a thriving and peaceful planet, and share what we learn — in person and online.

We co-create with our local and wider environment

  • We co-initiated a community-led movement to revive and protect natural water flows and regenerative agrosystems.
  • We partner up with like-minded initiatives on the road to autonomous, healthy, and joyful bioregions and economies.

What drives us

We live on a planet that overflows with abundance, yet much of our human world is built on a belief in lack.

For thousands of years, people have taught each other that there isn’t enough to go around and that more for you equals less for me.

This has given rise to a game called ‘This is mine — not yours’.

In an increasingly complex and globalised world, this game is causing unprecedented havoc, destruction, and suffering.

We wrestled with this game, saw through it, and, together with more and more fellow humans, we’re finding alternatives.

And it’s not like we have all the answers now — we know we don’t, but we have discovered this: if you really desire something, you only need one answer to ‘How?’

—Yes.

Miracle Project grew out of a deep desire to move part of the world towards beauty,

to inspire people to come alive,

and to positively influence how we humans treat ourselves, each other, and the planet.

We are a for-different-kinds-of-profit, using money as one of the available tools to regenerate land, strengthen communities, and co-create abundance.

It’s not just the way it is
