That just about wraps up this chapter.
To give a brief summary:
Our perception of lack
is rarely about having too little
and almost always about being too little.
Or rather:
about the stubborn belief
in not being good enough.
Why not good enough is a belief, why the belief is a mistake, why this mistake is the root cause of all the negativity this chapter touched upon, and what turning the mistake upside down can bring about… I’m going to save that for part two of this book.
For now, I want to conclude this no-economics class by saying, ‘This is why money is such a powerful door.’ Few things preoccupy us and few things so seem to control our lives, as money. Yet, as soon as we dare to look more honestly, both at our preoccupation with money and the idea of it controlling us, we naturally start looking more honestly at ourselves, each other and the world.
And that honest looking almost automatically makes us a building block for the world we all, deep down, wish to live in.
The following chapters are about the first hallelujahs in my money research, my experiments with money, my journey without money, and the realisation I would come home to: that it’s not about with money or without money.
